Hush Puppies with Duke's Mayonnaise


  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. parsley
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¾ cup Duke's Mayonnaise
  • ⅔ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup scallions, chopped
  • Oil for deep frying


1. In a large bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, parsley and salt.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk the Duke’s, buttermilk, and scallions.

3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients until just combined.

4. In a deep-fat fryer or large pot, heat oil to 365°F. Drop rounded teaspoons of batter into the oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-4 minutes.

5. Drain on paper towels.
