Tomato Sandwich

Its summer again and tomatoes are ripe,
They are home grown and just the right type.
Luscious and red and firm to the feel,
No one bothers to take time to peel.

First get two slices of the staff of life,
And put some mayo all over your knife.
You spread these slices as thick as you can,
With Duke's Mayonnaise, all others we ban.

You slice a tomato all juicy and red,
To place on this heavenly sandwich bed.
Salt and pepper till your tongue says stop,
And place the second slice then on top.

You now have manna from heaven,
Whether you're six or ninety-seven,
Whether you are dirt poor or filthy rich,
You have God's gift called a tomato sandwich.

When I was growing up, we kids always loved to eat a Duke’s Mayonnaise sandwich with a cold glass of sweet tea. We would add salt and pepper right on the bread, and it was delicious. Still today, I eat one every so often. I use Duke’s in my deviled eggs, banana sandwiches, potato salads and burgers… everything at my house is made with Duke’s. That is my story and I’m sticking to it!

I grew up in South Carolina, and of course, my family has always used Duke’s Mayonnaise. Three years ago, I took a job in Oklahoma, where they don’t sell Duke’s. Every time I go home, I make sure to stock up on my favorite mayo, purchasing several months’ worth at a time. Many of my Oklahoma friends have asked, “What’s the big deal with this mayonnaise?” Once I let them try it, though, they’re convinced that Duke’s is the best they’ve ever had!

As a native Carolinian, I was, of course, raised on Dukes Mayonnaise. I moved to California a year ago, only to find out ... there’s no Dukes here. That alone was enough to make me want to move back to the Carolinas. Thank God for plastic and a very good friend who sends me a 42oz. jar of Dukes every six weeks! It’s my “survival kit” on the west coast. Until I come back home ... keep sendin’ me the Dukes!!!

Being an ol’ Southern girl, I was born and raised on Duke’s. BLT sandwiches, peanut butter & banana sandwiches, chicken salad and the ambrosia of the Gods ... tater salad, all made with the goodness of Duke’s. As I tell my Yankee friends ... once you’ve had Duke’s, all other mayos are just “white stuff.”

My husband and I first bought Duke’s 7 years ago when we were on the Adkin’s low carb diet. Duke’s has no sugar! We never buy anything else, now even though our diet has changed to a more fruit and veggie style. Hellman’s just can’t compete with your thick and tasty style.

I remember as a young child my father would make banana sandwiches with Duke’s mayonnaise. Me and my brother and sister were raised on this mayonnaise and now I am doing the same thing my Father did and that is raising my children on Duke’s. Duke’s has been in my family for over 40 years and it will continue to be. We use a big jar once a week. This is the best mayonnaise in the world!!

Hello, my name is Harlan Cheek, I just wanted to tell you what a great product Duke’s mayo and spread is. There is always one of each in our frig and another in the pantry. Growing up on a farm and eating fresh tomato sandwiches and banana sandwiches made with Duke’s is one of my best memories.

All, I am elated to have purchased and received one case of Duke’s Mayonnaise for my personal consumption. Until now, I would have to rely on southern contacts to buy, package and ship this fine product to me! I commit sins such as... but not limited to... mixing Duke’s Mayonnaise in equal parts with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce. Devastating. Try it on grilled burgers or flat tot’s. It works well in frying chicken.

I am writing to tell you that my family & I think Duke Mayo is really delicious. It is new to our area of Florida and I thought we would try it. We have always only used Helmans Mayo and thought it was the best. But by far your product is far superior to it. We are now on our second jar. I noticed when visiting your web site that Dukes also has a Light Mayo and hope our grocer (Publix) will soon carry it. I don’t normally write to companies but at lunch today, while enjoying Dukes my husband said “you should really write this company and tell them how good it is”. So here it is... you can now add to your list of fans - our family of loyal mayo users in Florida!
